Text Chunk is the recording name of Brandon Smith, an Edmonton-based producer, mixing and mastering engineer, DJ, and label founder. His work as Text Chunk spans production, DJing, sound design, and engineering, with a catalogue that moves across footwork, club, jungle, techno, IDM, gabber, and ambient.
Smith also helped found Kudatah, an independent label that began as an outlet for his own music and has since developed into a broader platform for releasing and supporting music from a wider network of artists. He currently oversees the label's catalogue, production, artwork, and day-to-day activities.
His music has appeared on Kudatah, Moveltraxx, Temple, Evar Records, Infinite Drift, and other independent labels. As a mixing and mastering engineer, he has worked with artists including Sangam, Thugwidow, PJS, and Kagami Smile, as well as projects for Montreal's Temple label and much of the Kudatah catalogue.
